The Climbs

I don’t take grades too seriously, and I find my own experiences on climbs often do not match what the grade might suggest. However, they are the best thing we have, and they can help to plan a visit to a crag.

The grades listed below take into account the original Lancashire Bouldering Guidebook by Robin Müller, but I have also taken a look at UKC (on 01/01/2026) to check out what others have said about the grades. These are shown in brackets where they differ. I have excluded some votes where it makes sense to do so (for example, Patiopia has a vote for 6C, but there is a variant which goes via a good pocket which gets 6C in the guide. I’ve therefore ignored that vote, as I’ve assumed it’s for that variant. As all other votes were for around 7A, that’s the grade I’ve listed).

You’ll also find a note on the beta I had going in to each climb. No beta means I figured it out alone with the guidebook, but this also means I might have done it “wrongly”! If that’s the case and I learn about it, then I’ll update the relevant page. Also, having the beta beforehand can make a climb much easier, and I think it’s only right to credit the people I’ve learnt from.

Grade Summaries

I think these little bar charts give a quick summary of the overall level of climbing in the video. I’ve done three based on the guidebook grade, the lowest UKC vote, and the highest UKC vote.
